Description
This book is a compilation of contemporary articles on the Triumph Vitesse produced between 1962 and 1971. The 1.6-litre engine which was unusual for its size in having six cylinders rather than four. Both saloons and convertibles were offered, and Triumph’s publicity material stressed the sporting nature of the cars. A slightly more powerful engine was fitted from mid-1965 (though it was never advertised as such), but the car’s sporting pretensions were not fully realised until 1966, when the original 1600 versions were replaced by 2-litre models capable of 95mph. Covering: Contemporary Road and Comparison tests • Drivers Impressions • Specifications and Technical Data • Buying Used • History and Special Tuning. Models covered include: Vitesse 1600 and 2 litre • Sports Six and Vitesse Mk.2.
