The Mk III was introduced in 1969, with a newly designed engine – a V8 460cu to meet the exhaust emission control standards – The Mk IV arrived 1972 which grew 4 inches overall. The styling was updated and the engine modified for the even stricter emission controls.
This car was built for comfort, however and despite the energy crisis there was still a market for big cars in America at this time.
