Description
The Lincoln Continental Performance Portfolio 1961-1969 is a compilation of contemporary articles. To revive the ailing Lincoln-Mercury division the restyled 1961 Continental was a massive success. In fact it was so popular it remained basically unchanged until the new range was introduced in the 1970s. Initially available as a thin-pillar four-door sedan or convertible, it later became a two-door hardtop in 1966.
Early models contained the 430ci V8 which was upgraded 462ci in 1966. The body, which was very rigid and rust resistant, reflected in strong sales.
